Planning a family weekend at the lake usually starts the same way. Someone finds a house with enough beds for the cousins, a yard for the kids, and a table big enough for everyone at supper. Then come the questions. Which dates work? Who is bringing the dog? And where should we book?
Some of the homes we care for are listed on Airbnb and VRBO as well as on our own site, BookTexoma.com. Those sites are good, familiar places to find a lake home, and we're glad to welcome guests who find us there. We also want families to know what it means to book with us directly, and how to compare their options in a fair and simple way.
What booking directly means
Book Texoma is a small local team in Kingston, Oklahoma. When you book on BookTexoma.com, you're booking with the people who look after the house you'll be staying in.
That has a few quiet benefits.
You talk with people who know the home. We know how each house is set up, which homes have bunk rooms for the cousins, and which have a game room for a rainy afternoon. If you're wondering whether a house will suit your family, you can ask the folks who care for it.
Help is local. We live and work around Lake Texoma. If a question comes up during your stay, we're a phone call away at 580-440-0060, and we know the area.
We know the lake. We're happy to share our own favorite places around Kingston and the lake, from marinas and fishing guides to fall events the kids will remember.
Booking online is simple. Choose your home and dates at BookTexoma.com, see your total, and book. Arrival details come by email before your stay.
One example stay, three ways
We looked up one real weekend to show what a fair comparison looks like.
Example stay: Lake Texoma Cabin in the Woods, Kingston, Oklahoma. Friday, Oct. 30 to Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026. Two nights. Same home, same dates, same number of guests on each site.
| Where you book | Total at checkout |
|---|---|
| Airbnb | $987.40 |
| VRBO | $940.06 |
| BookTexoma.com | $886.43 |
For this stay, booking directly was $53.63 less than VRBO (about 5.7 percent of the VRBO total) and $100.97 less than Airbnb (about 10.2 percent of the Airbnb total).
Please note: this is one example stay. Prices were checked on Oct. 23, 2026, and each total includes all mandatory fees and taxes shown at checkout. Prices change by date, by home, and by the number of guests, so your own comparison may look different.
How to compare fairly on your own
If you'd like to compare for your own trip, here is the simple way we do it.
- Use the same home. Many homes are listed in more than one place. Make sure it's the same house, not a similar one nearby.
- Use the same dates. Even one night's difference can change the total.
- Use the same guests. Enter the same number of adults, children, and pets on each site, since some fees depend on them.
- Go all the way to the checkout total. Nightly rates are only part of the picture. Cleaning fees, service or booking fees, and taxes are added before you pay, and they differ from place to place. Compare the final total, the amount you would actually pay.
- Read the terms side by side. Look at the cancellation policy and pet policy on each site, so you know what you're getting for the price.
- Write down the date you checked. Prices move, so it helps to note when you looked and keep a screenshot if you're deciding with family.
Sometimes booking directly will come out ahead, and sometimes the difference will be small. Either way, comparing the full total for the same stay gives you an honest answer for your family.
A few homes to start with
We care for homes all around the lake, from cozy cabins for a small family to large houses with room for a reunion. Some are close to marinas and boat ramps for fishing groups, and some have game rooms, bunk rooms, and fire pits for the kids. You can browse them all at BookTexoma.com and see each home's total for your dates before you book.
A warm welcome
Our hope is simple. We'd like your family to arrive at the lake feeling like someone was looking out for you, because someone was. Whether you find us on another site or come straight to our own, we're glad you're thinking of Lake Texoma.
When you're ready, check availability at BookTexoma.com, or plan your stay with our local team. If you have a question first, we're a phone call away at 580-440-0060.
